What to Pack for a BTS Concert During COVID

Almost two years after we bought tickets for the Map of the Soul: 7 tour, we finally got to see BTS in Los Angeles as part of their four-date Permission to Dance: On Stage concert series! Now, we\’re heading to Las Vegas! All of the concerts we\’ve attended in the past were pre-pandemic, so this upcoming adventure left us wondering what to pack for a BTS concert during COVID.

It\’ll take a flight, rental car, and an overnight stay to see our boys again, but it\’s worth it! Plus, we\’re huge fans of Las Vegas. Whether it\’s a girls\’ trip, a romantic getaway, or just all the great food, we love that city! Still, we\’re hoping we can finally get to Seoul after our trip was canceled almost two years ago!

We\’ve done our research, and we\’re going to share our plan with you! If you\’re regular readers, you already know that several people in our household live with underlying medical conditions plus two of us have obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This, of course, has led us to take this pandemic very seriously. We understand that not everyone is going to take the preventive measures that we consider essential, so take whatever you need from this post and leave the rest!

BTS Concert Packing List

We could not be more excited to be packing our bags for a BTS concert! Seriously, not being able to go to Japan and Seoul last year was definitely heartbreaking. We see that Japan is starting to open up its borders, though, so we\’re hopeful that our relocation can get back on track. In the meantime, we\’ve got this trip to look forward to!

For the plane

They are keeping airplanes cleaner than they used to, which is great. It doesn\’t hurt, though, to wipe everything down yourself and keep your hands clean. You don\’t want to catch something that can jeopardize your concert plans (and potentially put others at risk)!

For the hotel

We know that some hotels have added extra cleaning protocols to keep guests safer during the pandemic. If you have underlying health conditions or risk factors, fellow ARMIES, please take extra steps to protect yourself. Be sure to read our guide to cleaning and sanitizing hotel rooms.

Clothing

Guys, this is YOUR CHANCE! Be as fun and creative (and silly!) as you want to be! Just look at Josh\’s crazy outfit for PTD Las Vegas! We absolutely love it, and we don\’t care what anyone thinks. We\’re dressing to celebrate!

If you\’re going to an outdoor concert at night during the winter months, you might get cold if you don\’t dress appropriately. Yes, we know you want to look super cute but you\’ll still be adorable even if you\’re warm! It\’s a good idea to wear layers so that you can add or remove things as needed.

In Your Concert bag

Every stadium has its own rules, so please, please get familiar with them before you head to the concert. We\’ll be at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California this time around, and they have a whole \”BTS at SoFi Stadium Know Before You Go\” section of their website.

Sightseeing in Las Vegas

We have seen that the City of Las Vegas will be turning purple for BTS. Details haven\’t been released yet, but we\’ve put together a quick guide that will be updated when more information is available. Here\’s what we know:

  • 11 hotels will offer BTS-themed rooms
  • BTS drinks will be served at a café
  • Fountains of Bellagio seems to be going purple
  • There will be a photography exhibition
  • MERCH booths and a pop up are coming!!!

Of course, there\’s just a lot to see and do in Las Vegas. I\’m kind of shocked that we\’ve only written about it twice! To be fair, our last trip was at the very beginning of the pandemic and I didn\’t feel like writing much those days. Maybe I should put some quick posts together!

Sightseeing In Koreatown/Little Tokyo

While we\’re in Los Angeles, we\’re going to take the opportunity to do some quick shopping. We\’ve got an Asian market here in Boise, and I love it, but there are many things that I can\’t find. I\’m literally taking an extra suitcase just so I can bring stuff home. Yes, we also do a lot of shopping at online Asian grocery stores, but it\’s not the same.

What\’s on our list? We want to grab some tteokbokki, cheese corn dogs, and fried chicken at the food stalls, and then check out H-Mart for snacks and cooking staples like doenjang, gochujang, and specialty ramen that I\’m not able to find anywhere (fingers crossed!). We\’re also just looking to browse through the popular shopping areas and stop at the local shrine to drop off my omamori charms since I can\’t get to Japan.

We won\’t have a ton of time before the concert because we want to get there early enough to grab merch as soon as the doors open. If you\’re driving, be sure to review your venue\’s parking and transportation guidelines (these are the ones for SoFi) so you won\’t be scrambling on the day of the concert. Be as prepared as possible and expect the unexpected. Then, just let yourself be excited about seeing BTS after all this time! If I learn anything on this trip, I\’ll come back and update the post.
