How the COVID-19 Pandemic Is Changing Our Site

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, we’d just started to travel more again. After welcoming three babies in 12 months, there wasn’t a lot of time to see the world — raising newborn multiples is a full-time job. After a few years, though, it became more possible to take short trips away from home, or even travel together as a family. Then, everything changed overnight.

We’ve always been conscious about the spread of disease. Between chronic illness and obsessive compulsive disorder, we’ve had to work on strategies to stay healthy as we jetset around the world. At first, we were encouraged by what we saw. People were staying home and many were wearing masks. Then, everything changed again.

What we’ve seen in the United States and other parts of the world, especially in Western cultures, this year has been astonishing. Even after years of being ridiculed for wearing masks or using hand sanitizer, nothing prepared us for what’s happened in 2020.

For a long time, the idea of posting on this website felt traumatizing. There was no way we could ever endorse traveling during a pandemic, even as we saw good friends continuing to do so. Our feelings were so strong, in fact, that we even considered shutting down this site.

We’re not going to do that, though. Instead, we’ve decided to pivot and put the focus on how we are changing our lives in light of everything that’s happening. We’ll be publishing posts on the following topics:

We hope you’ll stay with us for the journey as we plan our relocation abroad. We’re excited for everything that lies ahead!
